I'd save the book for later after you've hit the trainers. I believe there is also 1 book for each skill out in the world somewhere that you can use to increase skill rank as well. If you do things this way, you won't miss out on available skill points. Then use the two 4-6 trainers to level it to rank 6. You should then put a level point into it to get it to rank 4.
